The entire family is all dressed up - let’s take advantage of it! After a sweet family photoshoot, you're probably looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a meal together and keep the good vibes going. Birmingham, Alabama, offers a range of family-friendly restaurants that will make your post-photoshoot dinner just as memorable as the day itself. Here is a list of my favorite family places for after your family photoshoot.

Melt – Not only do they have great food, but they have games for the family. Located in Trace Crossings Shopping Center, MELT serves up gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, and other comfort food classics with a modern twist. It’s casual, affordable, and the portions are generous. My Favorites dish is their Food Truck Nachos with their Burger being a close second.

Little Donkey – Another great option for is Little Donkey! Located in the Homewood area, this family-friendly restaurant offers fresh, made-from-scratch Mexican dishes with Southern flair. It has a relaxed atmosphere and a menu that caters to both adults and children, making it a perfect choice for a post-photoshoot family dinner. My Favorite: Fried Chicken Taco and their house-made guacamole.

The Bright Star – For a Fun and Unique option. The Bright Star in Bessemer is Alabama’s oldest restaurants (since 1907), this spot is steeped in history and known for its Greek-style seafood and steaks. Its old-fashioned ambiance is perfect for a post-photoshoot dinner with the whole family. My Favorite: Greek-style snapper

Slice Pizza & Brew – One of my favorite family friends patios around! If your family loves pizza, Slice Pizza & Brew is a great option for winding down after a photoshoot . Known for its locally sourced ingredients and creative pizza combinations, Slice offers a unique twist on classic pies. My Favorite: A slice of pepperoni!

Martin’s BBQ Joint – Also has a great family friendly patio area with games for the family! Martin’s BBQ Joint offers an authentic taste of Tennessee’s famous whole-hog BBQ. Located in Cahaba Heights, this casual, family-friendly spot serves up slow-smoked meats with a range of tasty sides like mac & cheese, slaw, and cornbread. It’s perfect for an easygoing dinner where everyone can dive into flavorful BBQ without any fuss. My Favorite: ribs and fried green tomatoes

Pizitz Food Hall - For a fun option with a lot of choices! Located in downtown Birmingham, Alabama, inside the historic Pizitz building. It offers a diverse range of culinary options, featuring various food stalls that represent different global cuisines. The hall is popular for its vibrant atmosphere and eclectic mix of local and international flavors. Some of the stalls offer items such as ramen, tacos, Mediterranean dishes, Indian street food, burgers, and more. There's also a bar within the hall, making it a lively spot for socializing and enjoying a meal or drink.

Culinary Dropout - for a trendy and fun option. Culinary Dropout is such a cool place to try. They often have live music and feature games like shuffleboard or board games to play as a family. My Favorite: The pretzel bites and the charcuterie board

The Cajun Steamer If your family loves a bit of spice and Southern flavor, The Cajun Steamer is the place to go. Specializing in Cajun and Creole cuisine, this restaurant offers dishes like jambalaya, crawfish étouffée, and po'boys. While the menu is packed with bold flavors, there are plenty of milder options for kids who aren’t ready for the heat. The casual atmosphere and friendly service make it a great family destination. My Favorite: Grouper Fingers
