Here you can find information on location, wardrobe selection and answers to FAQ’s

I am excited to capture the memories of this season of life for you. My goal is not to capture a bunch of stiff posed shots of but to capture your personality and give moments to you as memories to cherish. While we will capture a few classic portraits, the majority of your gallery will be filled with images full of movement, laughs and even some serious glances.

What is Lifestyle Photography: During your session we will absolutely grab some classic portraits. However the majority of your gallery will include images with some movement. Visit this post if you want to find out a little more about Lifestyle Photography .

Trust the Process: There may be times during our session that you feel silly or think what we are doing is strange. I have different little action items that work in different ways; some are to make you relax and some are just to make you laugh, while others grab a certain posture that I’m looking for. Trust my process and you will end up with images you love!

Time of Day: We will start shooting about an hour before sunset to take advantage of the warm light from the afternoon sun. Depending on the Location we choose that could change slightly, but that is my general time to start

Length of Session: Senior sessions take about an hour

Location: Together we will decide on the best location for your family photo session. See my GUIDE TO BIRMINGHAM PHOTO LOCATIONS for information on some great spots. Be thinking over that choices and please let me know if I can help with your decision!

What to Wear: Wardrobe should reflect who you are and your style. Click here to see TIPS FOR PLANNING YOUR WARDROBE . For your Senior Session I would recommend at two or three outfits. Outfit combinations can include dressy, casual with your college t-shirt of sweatshirt, cap and gown, super trendy, etc….

Props: Have you worked hard at a sport of hobby? Let’s include it in your session or add on a second Senior Mini Shoot to incorporate what you are passionate about. See this small sample of a Senior Specialty Mini Session for ideas.

Please arrive and be ready to start on time: Your session is timed for lighting so it is important that we start on time. Please plan for traffic, etc… accordingly.

When will I hear from you? I will email you about 10 days before your session with other details you may need, and we can start finalizing your location choice at that point. Until then please text, email or call if you need anything kristie@kristieallenphotography.com, 205 470 7195
